PED148 - Beginning Golf
Credits: 1

Catalog Description: Presents the basic skills of golf including grip, stance, swing, rules, and etiquette. One and one-half class hours.

Lecture: 1.5 hrs.

Student Performance Outcomes:
After successful participation and completion of the course students will be able to:
1.Identify in writing the five principles of which the rules are based and the scoring procedures of golf that serve as the foundation for the rules and scoring.
2.Identify in writing the seven standards that are the basics of golf etiquette.
3.Identify in writing the three grips used in golf.
4.Demonstrate the three grips used in golf.
5.*Identify, in writing, and practice everyday in class, the correct golf stance, swing and putt, with a minimum of five consistent attempts.
*This course objective has been identified as a student learning outcome that must be formally assessed as part of the College's Comprehensive Assessment Plan. All faculty teaching this course must collect the required data (see Assessing Student Learning Outcomes form) and submit the required analysis and documentation at the conclusion of the semester to the Office of Assessment and Special Projects.
