PED149 - Intermediate Golf
Credits: 1

Catalog Description: Presents major skills, strategies, etiquette, and safety consideration in golf. Provides opportunity to analyze skills and plan and implement drills and activities while adhering to the New York State Physical Education Standards and to the National Physical Education Standards. One and One-half class hours. Prerequisite: PED 104 or PED 148

Lecture: 1.5 hrs.

Student Performance Outcomes:
Based upon course examinations, class discussions, presentations, activities, and written assignments, students will be able to:
1. Identify and perform the major skills associated with golf with proper technique and form.
2. Analyze and breakdown the major skills in golf.
3. Describe appropriate progression of skill development in golf.
4. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate drills, activities and lessons in golf.
5. Identify ways to assess skill development.
6. Participate in golf in order to demonstrate knowledge in the valve of physical activity.
7. Identify and demonstrate the tactical strategies associated with golf.
8. Abide by safety rules and procedures in equipment use and play.
9. Demonstrate appropriate etiquette.
10. *Plan and implement one (1) activity lesson plan, scoring at least an 80% on an effective teaching rubric.
